The Morning Routine: Tech Inspections & Riders Meeting

Before the tires ever hit the track, there are a few essentials:

Track days are typically divided into groups based on skill level: Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced. As a first-timer, you’ll be in the Novice group, which often includes:

• Slower-paced, controlled laps to learn the track layout

• Opportunities to ask questions and get one-on-one advice

Sessions usually rotate throughout the day, giving you time to ride, rest, hydrate, and soak in the experience. Pro tip: staying hydrated is key. Know Your Flags

Understanding track signals is critical for your safety and everyone else’s. A few common ones to remember:

Checkered Flag – Session over, head back to the paddock

Yellow Flag – Caution, no passing, be alert

Red Flag – Session stopped, return to pits immediately

Black Flag - Pull into the pits and see the Track Marshall immediately. This could be nothing serious, but could also mean you're doing something concerning

Meatball Flag (black flag with orange circle) - There's something wrong with your bike. Get off the racing line immediately and pull over to the closest corner marshall.
